McLaren Vale Harvest Festival
From 13 to 14 January, the inaugural McLaren Vale Harvest Festival will take place within the South Australian wine growing region.
Set at the McLaren Vale oval, the McLaren Vale Harvest Festival is a celebration of the diversity of food, wine, music and arts from the McLaren Vale region. The premier event will be centred around the 2012 Festival theme, Flavours of Europe, which celebrates and showcases the European heritage of the region. Those in attendance will be able to sample the best of European tastes, cultures and traditions.
The event will be launched on the Friday evening with the opening of the Taste the Harvest Sculpture and Art Exhibition, which will be followed by the 'Feast McLaren Vale' festival dinner.
On the Saturday, food and wine stalls will fill the oval, together with local food producers and chefs. The day will also include a Celebrity Challenge and 'Magic Dozen' Wine & Art Auctions to raise funds for the local hospital.
