Milano & Co lands in Melbourne
Fashion brand Milano & Co recently celebrated the opening of its new Melbourne store with a cocktail event attended by the Italian Consul General of Victoria Marco Maria Cerbo.
The store was opened by two entrepreneurs from Vicenza, Sonia Marchiori and Roberto Canderle. They each have experience in the fields of fashion and jewellery that extends more than 30 years. They made the decision to head down under to offer Australian consumers with a high quality collection of clothes that are all made in Italy.
Marco welcomed the new Italian commercial presence in Melbourne and congratulated Sonia and Roberto for an excellent start to their fashion project.
He noted that fashion is one of the core strengths in Italian exports and that it is significantly contributing to Italy’s national recovery after a long economic crisis. Marco added that last year marked a record for exports in the fashion industry .
The opening night, held in store on Wednesday 27 November, was attended by 50 people – many of whom left with purchases of clothing items that were on display.
Following the successful launch, Sonia and Roberto have indicated that they hope to eventually expand into other markets including Sydney, Mumbai, Toronto, Singapore, Hong Kong and Doha.
