NSW Wine Festival
The 2012 NSW Wine Festival will begin on 25 February and run right through to the end of March.
The festival is presented by The Sydney Morning Herald, in conjunction with NSW Wine. It is designed to celebrate New South Wales’ 14 wine regions as well as the state’s fine local produce. Several wine and food focussed events will be held across Sydney and regional New South Wales.
Each year, the festival kicks off with the biggest outdoor wine event at Sydney Cellar Door in Hyde Park. Visitors will be able to taste wines from approximately 90 different wineries and meet wine-makers from each of the state’s wine growing regions, including the Hunter Valley, Hilltops, Orange and Shoalhaven.
As part of the festival, several restaurants throughout Sydney will offer special food and wine matched menus. ‘Tours of the Region’ dinners will also be held. They will include full degustation menus matched with the state's best wines and will be hosted by wine and food experts as well as the winemakers.
